While working with Bessel van der Kolk, sociologist Kate Price remembered that her father had drugged her, sexually abused her, and trafficked her to men at a nearby truck stop. She now works for the Wellesley Center for Research on women against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children.

The reporting garnered a Pulitzer Prize in 2003. Other victims came forward resulting in 249 criminal cases.
